Overview of Standard Swimming Pool Tiles

The diving pool, competition pool, and training pool of the swimming pool require cement mortar leveling for standard pool tiles, with tile adhesive applied, and the joints must be filled with grout.

All base surfaces for standard pool tiles should be firm, smooth, dry, clean, free of oil, wax, and other debris. For oily base surfaces, first usea 10% caustic soda solution to scrub, then rinse thoroughly with clean water, and dry before proceeding to the next step.

The construction process for standard pool tiles: clean the base surface, and after it dries, perform interface treatment. Cement mix ratio: cement50kg, medium sand 125kg, appropriate amount of water. Prepare leveling mortar of 1 to 3 cm. According to the ratio, the 1 to 3 cm thick cement mortar leveling layer is completed in 1 to 2 times. After the leveling layer is completely dry, waterproof treatment is done with waterproof mortar. After the waterproof mortar dries, interface treatment is done with tile adhesive, and tiles are pasted. Tile adhesive ratio: 25 kg plus 5 to 5.5 kg of water. Pour water into the container, then slowly add the powder into the water, and mix evenly with an electric mixer to form a uniform, lump-free slurry. According to the prepared slurry ratio, the 3mm thick slurry interface layer is applied in two batches, and it can dry in 24 hours.

Paste the standard pool tiles evenly, then rub the standard pool tiles on top, and before completely drying, gently wipe the painted surface with a slightly damp sponge or cloth, and lay. After 24 hours, grouting can be done in one step or filled. Generally, about 4.5 to 6 kg per square meter, with a paste thickness of about 2 to 3 mm.

The mixing ratio of the grout is powder: water=25kg:(4.3 to 4.6)kg. Pour 80 to 90% of the required water into the bucket, then add the powder and mix with an electric mixer. Gradually add the remaining water, mixing until there are no particles, forming a uniform paste. After standing for 2 to 5 minutes, stir for 1 to 3 minutes before use.

Under the same construction conditions, the amount of water added to each bag of grout should be the same to ensure consistent color tone. The mixed grout should be used within1 hour. Use a rubber grout knife to press the mixed grout into the joints along the diagonal direction of the standard pool tiles. Fill the gaps, then remove excess cement from the surface. Let it air dry naturally. Once the grout reaches a certain hardness, use a rubber scraper or a slightly damp sponge to press and trim the grout. Then clean the tile surface with a slightly damp clean sponge or cloth.

After the grout is completely dry, the tile surface can be cleaned of any remaining spots with water or a cleaner specifically for standard pool tiles, or the tile surface can be cleaned thoroughly. The entire wall should be wet from top to bottom. Do not wet the joint filler with water until it is completely dry.

After the grout is completely dry and cured, waterfor 1 to 2 days can further increase the early strength of the standard pool tiles. The amount of grout used in the swimming pool is 1.093/m2.
